INGREDIENTS :

Onion - 2 (large, sliced)
Rice flour / Arisi mavu - 2 tbspn
Gram flour / Kadalai mavu - 1 cup
Chilli powder - 2 tspn
Garam masala powder - 1 tspn
Cumin powder - 1/4 tspn
Coriander leaves - few (chopped finely)
Salt - as needed
Oil - for frying
Black salt - for sprinkle 

METHOD :

  • Slice the onion into thin slices and take them in mixing bowl..
  • Add in salt and squeeze them well with your hands..
  • So they release water and then you can add in spices powder and coriander leaves..
  • Mix it well, Add in gram flour and rice flour and mix well..
  • Sprinkle some water if needed.. Now the batter is ready to use..
  • Heat a pan with oil, add slowly the mixture into the oil..
  • Now fry them, after few mins turn th epakodas and fry till golden..
  • Drain them in kitchen towels and sprinkle some black salt..
  • Mix it well and serve hot..
  • Enjoy..


PICTORIAL :

Slice the onion and take them in a bowl
Add in salt
Squeeze well with your hands
Till the onion are seperated
It will take 5 mins
Now the onion release some water
Now look at that, it's correct consistency
Add in spices powder
Add in chopped coriander leaves
Mix it well
Add in rice flour
Add in gram flour
Mix well, i don't add any water
If needed sprinkle some water
Heat a pan with oil
Slowly add them into the oil
Allow to fry for 2 mins
Now flip it and fry till golden
Keep stirring for even cooking
Now they are almost done
Drain it
In kitchen towel
They look crispy and crunchy
Sprinkle some black salt over it
Mix it with your hands
Serve hot
