Motichoor Ladoo / Motichur Laddu Recipe

Usually thie ladoos are quick, delicious and easy ladoo recipe for this festivals...  


This motichoor ladoo are made with boondis / fried gram flour flour balls and mix with sugar syrup till they absorb the syrup, grinding it and then adding roasting melon seeds and roll it into balls.. Here I didn't add any nuts but you can add in chopped nuts like cashew, pista and badam etc...

INGREDIENTS :

Melon seeds / Magaz - 2 tbspn
Ghee - for rolling ladoos

FOR SUGAR SYRUP :

Sugar - 1 cup
Water - 1/2 cup
Saffron - generous pinch
Cardamom powder - a pinch

FOR BOONDIS :

Besan flour / Gram flour - 1 cup
Semolina / rava / sooji - 2 tbspn (powdered)
Water - 3/4 cup
Orange food colour - a pinch
Oil - for frying

METHOD :

STEP : 1 Make the batter and fry the boondis

  • Take gram flour and sooji in a sifter and sieve it in a mixing bowl...
  • Add little water and mix well to form a dosa batter consistency..
  • Add in food colour and mix well, keep aside..
  • Heat oil for deep frying and donot get the oil too hot..
  • Now take a boondi ladle and I use my strainer with medium size holes.
  • Now take the batter and pour over the top of the ladle..
  • So the boondis falls down through the holes..
  • Fry this in medium heat and drain it on a kitchen towels..
  • Repeat till you finish your batter..


STEP : 2 Make the sugar syrup

  • Now take the sugar and water in a pan..
  • Mix well so the sugar dissolves completely..
  • Simmer for 3 to 4 mins and Allow to forms one string consistency..
  • Now add in cardamom powder and saffron to it and mix well..
  • Now allow the sugar syrup to cool a bit..
  • Not to cool completely..


STEP :3 Making ladoo

  • First dry roast the melon seeds in a pn for 2 mins,, remove them to a plate..
  • Now take all the boondis in a bowl and add in prepared sugar syrup.
  • Mix well and remove them to a blender and pulse it lightly..
  • So they combained, don't grind it too much so they mashed up..
  • Now transfer this to the bowl and add in melon seeds..
  • Mix well and Dip your hads in ghee and take small portion and roll it into ladoo.
  • Arrange them in plate and serve..
  • Enjoy...


PICTORIAL :


Take all your ingredients
In a sifter sieve gram flour
Add powdered sooji to this
Now done
Add in water 
To make a smooth batter
Add in food colour
Mix it well
Take your ladle
Drop then into the oil like boondis
Fry them for few mins and drain it
Make the suagr syrup, add suagr to the pan
Cover with water
Add in saffron
Add in cardamom powder
Mix well and cook for 3 mins
Till the one string consistency, keep aside
In a pan add melon seeds
Fry it for 2 mins
Now it's done
Remove it to a plate
Take fried boondis in a bowl
Add in sugar syrup
Mix well
Add the mixture to the blender
Pulse it lightly
Again remove to the bowl
Add in melon seeds
Mix it well
Now this is the time to make ladoo
Dip your finger in ghee
Take a small portion of mixture
Form a ball 
Serve 
yumm.
