Palkova Recipe / Homemade Palkova


I love love Palkova / How to make the palkova in tradional way.. It is one of the famous sweet in south indian.. It mainly consists of two ingredients milk and sugar.. I wants to try this in a stove top method, but this is time consuming and painful but the effort is very tasty and delicious..



Shambhavi love palkova like me, she always offer me to prepare palkova but, It is a recipe which takes big work to made, so it is not that bad, but ends of this work is so worth but she love it and finished it within 1 day.. 



So I hope that you must try this recipe and let me know how it's turns out from you...

Cooking Time : 1 hours
Makes - 200 grams

INGREDIENTS :

Whole milk / Full fat milk - 1 lit
Sugar - 1/4 cup

METHOD :
  • Boil milk in thick bottom pan, I use my non stick pan..
  • Let it boil till it reduce to half.. (keep stirring inbetween)
  • Stir every min to avoid burnt at bottom..
  • Let it boil and keep the flame at low but take care to stir often..
  • It is almost 20 to 25 mins, the milk became to form thick scrap the side and mix well.
  • Water evapourates from the milk and form to became soild..
  • After that it can reduce completely and became thick soild form..
  • It will little burnt at the bottom but (my palkova is safe because of low heat) stir carefully and reduce the heat to very low...
  • Now add in sugar and mix well.
  • Keep stirring the palkova till the sugar dissolve...
  • Once it mix well, it will change to a light golden colour..
  • Switch off the flame, let be cool completely..
  • Serve and enjoy..


PICTORIAL :



Take your ingredients
Take milk in heavy bottom pan
Bring to boil
Once it boil 
Keep stiring the milk
It became little thick
See the milk is thin consistency
Keep an eye on it
Stir it continously
Now the milk is reduce to half
You can see the soild forming here
Again it became thick
It will stick to the bottom
Keep mixing an dreduce the heat to low
It will lightly change it colour
Mix well
It became slightly goey with a little moisture
Add in sugar
Mix well
Transfer them to  aserving bowl to cool completely
Yummy yummy Palkova is ready
Serve and enjoy..
