Fulka Roti / Soft Phulaka / Puffed Roti


Fulka Roti / Soft Puffed Roti is popular indian dish.. It is flat bread made with wheat flour and serve with bhaji, Masal, Kurma and gravy etc.. Making fulkas is no difficult and all you need is pratice.. Once the pratice is hold on it making soft fluffy fulka is easy to make.. 


Most of the indian lady's makes fulkas in their daily life as breakfast or lunch or dinner.. It is not only rich in nutrients but also rich in fibres that whole wheat brings along with it, but also low in fat and light on stomach... Traditionally fulkas are cooke don iron skillets and later part put it on direct flame makes rice and puffs... 


If you never tried this flat bread before in your home, But with experience you cake make your self and expert no time.. So I hope that you must try this recipe and let me know how it's turns out from you...

INGREDIENTS :

Whole wheat flour / Atta - 1 cup
Ghee - 3 tbspn
Warm water - as needed
Salt - 1 tspn

METHOD :

  • In a large wide bowl take flour, salt, ghee and rub it with your hands..
  • Now slowly add in warm water at a time to make soft and smooth dough...
  • Set the dough, rest for 15 mins... Knead once again for 5 mins..
  • Divide the dough into equal portions into balls..
  • Flatten this balls with your hands..
  • Take a ball and dust with some flour and roll into circles..
  • Cook the dough in low flame on roti tawa...
  • Keep rolling the roti with your hand that's make the roti fry evenly..
  • When the roti fluffs up flip it over and cook for 1 min..
  • Now flip the roits on direct flame and cook them..
  • The roti fluffy up like a balloon, at that time flip it and remove them to a plate..
  • If needed brush some oil or butter over the top of the roti...
  • Continue the process for remaining dough and serve hot..
  • Enjoy... 


PICTORIAL :


Take whole wheat flour in a bowl
Add in ghee
Add in salt
Rub it with your hands
Add in warm water slowly
Rub it well
Again add some water to form a dough
Knead it well
Now it's done 
Cover it fro 15 mins
Knead it well for 5 mins
Till they became soft
Make small balls out of it
Take a ball
Dust it with some flour
Place them in a rolling board
Make them a circles
Place it on hot tawa in low flame
Keep rolling with your hands or kitchen cloth
When they puffs lightly
Flip it over
When it bubbles again
You can see in the picture
Remove them to a direct flame
Fluffs up like balloon
Looks beautiful
Flip it over
Cook till golden on both sides
Take them to a plate
Enjoy the puffed roti..

Chocolate Chips Banana Bread / Banana Chocolate Chips Loaf Recipe


I am a huge banana bread fan... This is first bread recipe that I made in my kitchen with my new bread loaf pan... Result was so amazing and the tasty bread became, one of my family favorites snack item.. I plan to make this banana chocolate chip bread, because of some bananas which is lying on my fruit bowl.. 


That's makes to make this bread, for a little change I added some chocolate chips to the batter and bake it into loaf.. The outer part of the bread is cristy and inside is so soft and moist... Try this recipe to taste a piece of heaven...

INGREDIENTS :

All purpose flour / Maida - 2 cups / 240 grams
Sugar - 1 cup - 120 grams
Banana - 1 1/2 cup (mashed)
Egg - 1
Chocolate chips - dark
Baking soda - 1/2 tspn
Baking Powder - 1 tspn
Banana essence - 1 tspn (optional)
Salt - 1 tspn
Vegetable oil - 1/2 cup / 120 ml

METHOD :

  • Preheat the oven to 180 Degree C..
  • Grease the loaf pan with oil and place parchment paper in the bottom of the pan, keep aside..
  • Sprinkle some flour over the chocolate chips and mix well, keep aside.
  • So the chocolate chips spread out evenly...
  • Take ripe banana in a bowl and mash it with fork and keep aside..
  • In a bowl take oil, sugar, eggs and mashed banana and mix well.
  • When they fluffy add in flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, essence and mix well.
  • Add in chocolate chips and fold gently..
  • Spoon this into the baking pan and bake for 1 hour or till they done..
  • Check by insert the tooth pick which comes out clean..Then it's done..
  • Remove it from the oven and cool it pan for 15 mins..
  • Now unmould it and remove the parchment paper from it..
  • Cool it down and slice into pieces..
  • Enjoy...


PICTORIAL :


Take all your ingredients 
Prepare your pan
Mash some ripe banana with fork
Take chocolate chips in a bowl
Spoon some flour over it
Toss well, set aside
Take oil in a mixing bowl
Add in sugar
Add in egg
I forget to take picture in ingredients 
Mix it well
Add in mashed banana 
Whisk it well
Add in flour
Add in baking soda, baking powder and salt
Add in banana essence (it's optional)
Using a spatula to fold gently
Add in chocolate chips
Fold it evenly
Spoon this into a loaf pan and bake it
Now it's done, I love the rown part.. yumm
Cool it for 15 mins and remove it from the pan
Remove the parchment paper
Sliced it down
Serve warm
