Roasted Mutton Curry / Rara Gosht


The Rara Gosht is a traditional indian recipe of a delicious classic lamb curry...It is the popular recipe in himachal... Preparing the mutton curry in authentic indian way is the best. The curry would be finger licking, rich and delicious. The dish goes well perfectly with pulao, mutton briyani, naan, romali rotis. 



Normally mutton and lamb recipe are a treat to any one non vegetarian food lover. From the basic rosted leg of lamb to exotic dishes, the cooking option multiply. Mutton could be cooked in many ways region wise. The most notable ingredints in kasmiri cuisine is mutton.

INGREDINTS :

Mutton - 500 grams
Onion - 1 Big (sliced)
Tomato - 3 Big (chopped)
Green chilli - 2 (sliced)
Curd - 3 tbspn
Chilli powder - 2 tbspn
Garam masala powder - 2 tbspn
Cumin powder - 1/2 tspn (Roasted)
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tspn
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbspn
Onion paste - 1 tbspn
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Mint leaves - few (chopped)
Salt - as needed
Sesame oil - 3 tbspn

METHOD :

  • Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan and add mutton and fry it in the oil, for 10 mins.
  • Add sliced onion and tomatoes along with some salt and turmeric powder and cook for 10 mins.
  • Untill it mushy and add cumin powder, curd, ginger garlic paste, onion paste and put the lid on and cook it for 15 mins in a slow flame.
  • Now add garam masala powder and chilli powder, cook it for 15 mins.
  • Now add chopped coriander and mint leaves and keep it for 5 - 7 mins till the ouil floating on the top...
  • Serve it with naan, roti and chapathi...


PICTORIAL :


Heat a pan with oil
Add mutton 
Roast it in the oil
Add turmeric powder
Roast well
Add some sliced onions
Tomatoes
Cook till it mushy
Now the onion and tomato is well cooked
Add cumin powder
Then curd
Aspoon of onion and ginger garlic paste
Sliced two chilli on it
Allow to cook it for 15 mins
Sprinkle some garam masala
Chilli powder
Add some coriander and mint leaves
Cook till the mutton is done and the oil float on the top
Now it's done
Serve with some sliced ginger
