Soft ragi chapathi



Ragi chapathi is very popular healthy recipe. It is karnataka dish was in my try list for a long time. It is a heathy breakfast / dinner recipe for diabetic and for people who wants to lose their weight. I suggested me to try this one and i guaranteed that this would come out super softand stays soft for a long time too.


Iam not a big fan of ragi chapathi as it became very hard after cools down.. But i prepared in this way,  My hubby loved it like anything and told me to make it more often... In this recipe i add chopped some onions and chillies and instead of this you may also add in drumstick leaves. When we roll it into round chapathi i should not come evenly round because the dough is very soft.....


It is a healthy recipe will include this in your breakfast or dinner routine. Even bachelor's can try and have this healthy recipe in your menu.

INGREDIENTS :

Ragi flour - 2 cup
Water - 3 cup
Salt - as needed
Asafoetida - 1 /4 tsp
Onion - 1 (chopped)
Green chillies - 2 (chopped)
Oil - for making chapathi

METHOD :

  • Heat a pan with water when it bring to boil add in 1 cup of ragi flour.
  • And mix it fast as faster that no lumps should be formed on it and off the stove...
  • Now add in salt, asafoetida, chopped onion and chillies, and mix well.
  • Add in another 1 cup ragi flour and mix well, if needed add some water and knead it into soft dough.
  • Divided it into small balls, take a ball and roll it into chapathi..
  • Place it on the heat tawa and add oil.
  • Press the chapathi with kitchen towels and roast it like normal chapathi..
  • Now the soft ragi chapathi is ready to serve...

PICTORIAL :

Heat a pan with water
When it boil
Add a cup of ragi flour
MIx well faster
Like this 
Add in salt
Asafoetida
Chopped onionand chillies
Add in remaining flour 
Mix it well
Add some warm water
Make soft dough
Divided into small balls
Take a ball
Roll it into chapathi
Place it on the heat tawa
Add some oil 
Press it with kitchen towels
Now its ready to serve
