Besan paare / Chickpea flour crackers


Besan paare / spicy chickpea flour deep fried crackers is a quick and easy indian snacks for kids and as well as south indian festival snacks... This is a new recipe for me and it is very crispy and my son really liked the recipe with tomato ketchup..


It is a conventient option that can be had any time of the day...Gram flour contains high quality of carbohydrate and no gluten.. however, compared to other flours, gram flour is high in protein content.. It is also quite popular in italian and french cuisine...




Besan paare is one of the popular north indian savour snack which people makes often, mostly in festival times... These are crunchy in texture and spicy in taste. This can be store for 10 days in air tight container. It should be cooked on high flame. Then will be soft.. It is the great snacks to enjoy in the evening times with hot cup of tea...


Preparation time : 10 mins
Frying time : 3 - 5 mins
Serve - 3

INGREDIENTS :


Gram flour / besan - 1 cup
Rice flour - 1/4 cup
Asafetida / Hing - 2 pinch
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Butter - 1 1/2 tsp
Coconut oil - 2 tsp
Salt as needed
Oil for frying


METHOD :

  • Mix gram flour, rice flour in a mixing bowl.
  • Add in salt, asafetida, butter, coconut oil and mix evenly.
  • Then add in chilli powder, water and knead to make firm but a smooth dough..
  • Set aside atleast 10 mins. Take a dough and make a flat ball shape.. 
  • Roll it like a chapathi. Using sharp knife, cut it into square pieces. 
  • Another side heat oil in a frying kadai on medium flame.
  • Dont't load kadai with too many and fry them till light golden brown..
  • Serve it with tomato ketchup..


PICTORIAL :

Take rice flour and gram flour
In a mixing bowl add two flours
Salt
Add some asafetida
Butter
Two tsp if coconut oil
Mix evenly
Add some chilli powder
Knead to make a dough
In a rolling plate sprinkle some rice flour
Place the dough on it
Roll it like chapathi
Using sharp knife
Cut it into square shapes
Drop it in the heated oil
See how it's puffs up
When it light golden brown 
Drain it on the kitchen paper
Now it's ready
Serve
