Siru / pasi paruppu payasam

Siru / pasi paruppu payasam also known as paitham paruppu payasam is a simple south indian sweet pudding made during festivals. This is a very traditional tamil brahmin style of making payasam with required coconut milk. Paruppu payasam is a one of many verities of payasams in south india, especially popular in kerala and tamilnadu.

One of my easy and quick to make payasam, next to the pal payasam that come soon, My mom makes this very often for her friday pooja. This is very flavour ful and favourite too..... I made this payasam last week for Aadi perukku. The flavour of the payasam gets enhanced if we roast it slightly and make it, this is the tip.

I learnt from my mom. In this i directly fry dal in pressure cooker and make it..... This is the fast and easy way too.... If you cook it in the pot it will takes more time.....You can cook fully in water and add coconut milk for more rich taste. Don't over cook and mash the dal and make the payasam like porridge. The texture is very important..... So let's we start to make it.....
