Coriander Coconut Chutney / Green Chutney


The coriander coconut chutney is a ideal chutney for idli, dosa, vadas, uttappam, paniyaram and topping with chaat items dishes.. This beautiful green chutney make fragrant made with fresh coriander leaves, fresh coconut, salt, garlic, tamarind and salt in a blender with little water.. Make smooth paste out of it..


Make it a temper with mustard seeds, urad dal, shallots, curry leaves, dry chilli and pour over the chutney and mix well. It will make the chutney more refreshing and delicious to have along with the dishes.. So I hope that you must try this recipe and let me know how it's turns out from you..



Preparation time : 5 mins
Cooking time : 3 to 5 mins
Serve - 2 to 3

INGREDIENTS :

Fresh coconut - 1 cup
Green chilli - 1no
Garlic - 1 cloves
Tamarind - 1 a small piece
Coriander leaves - a large bunch
Salt - to taste

FOR TEMPER :

Oil - 1/2 tspn
Mustard - 1/2 tspn
Urad dal - 1/2 tspn
Shallots / Small onion - 2 chopped
Curry leaves - few
Dry chilli - 1 no

METHOD :

  • In the blender add chilli, tamarind, garlic, salt, coconut, coriander, add some water and grind into a paste.
  • Transfer it into a bowl.
  • In a kadai add oil, mustard, urad dal and allow to crackle.
  • Add in shallts and curry leaves and fry till light brown
  • Add in broken chilli ad fry lightly..
  • Pour it on the bowl and mix well..
  • Now the chutney is ready serve it with dosa or idli.

PICTORIAL :


Take your ingredients for grinding
In a blender add in chilli, garlic, tamarind, salt
Add in coconut
Fresh coriander leaves
 Now time to grind
 Make it a paste
 Transfer them into a bowl
 Heat a pan with oil
 Add in mustard and urad dal 
 When it crackle add in shallots and cury leaves
 Fry till golden brown
 Add in broken chilli
 Pour over the chutney
 Now it's done
 Enjoy..
