Cauliflower Peas Kurma



This simple cauliflower peas kurma is best serve with tortilla, kerala parotta, parathas..... Kurma is popular in india as well as in asia. The taste of the curry based on the masala by grinding some fresh ingredients, that gives execellant taste to the dish. 

 

There are many variation of making kurma the taste differ according with the cooking techniques and the ingredients used in the kurma.. I making south indian style of grind fresh coconut and small onion makes the kurma delicious..  While you cook this, your family and even neighbours will ask you what you are cooking! that much flavourful, yummy dish.

INGREDIENTS : 

Cauliflower - 1 small flower
Onions -2 (chopped)
Tomatoes - 2 (chopped)
Grean peas - 1/2 cup
Oil - 3 tbspn
Salt - as needed

FOR GRINDING :

Cashew - 6
grated coconut - 4 tbspn
Onion / shallots - 10 nos
Fry gram dal or peanuts - 1 tbspn
Garlic - 3 cloves
Elachi - 1 flakes
Cinnamon - 1/2 inch piece
Green chillies - 3 nos
Dry chillies - 3 nos

METHOD :
  • Cut onion and tomato in small pieces.
  • Grind all the ingredients under " FOR GRINDING" table, to a smooth paste and keep aside.
  •  Split cauliflower into requied sized pieces and wash well in warm water. Keep aside.
  • Heat a kadai with oil and fry onions to golden brown and then add chopped tomatoes.
  • After the tomatoes get mushy, add the grounded paste and fry in a low flame, till oil leaves the sides of the pan and raw smell disappears.
  • Add cauliflower and peas and fry for a minute.
  • And add requried water and bring it to boil and cook in low flame 3- 4 mins.
  • Now add in salt and bring to boil untill the veggies cooked.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.


PICTORIAL :

Take your veggies and cut them into pieces
Take gringing items
In to the blender
Grind it into fine paste
Heat oil and add in chopped onion
Fry them till light brown
Add in chopped tomatoes
Fry untill mushy
Add in grinding paste
Cauliflower and peas
Add mix evenly
So that the masala well coated on cauliflower and peas
Add some requied water
Add in salt
Cover it with lid untill the gravy is done
It will take 8 to 10 mins
Now the veggies cooked well 
Now it's ready
Serve hot
