Tradional Tiffin Sambar For Pongal


The delicious pongal sambar is an famous breakfast recipe in tamilnadu. Nothing is equal to pongal sambar. My family members were love this pongal sambar combination with medhu vada... My sister used to like this sambar very much, when my mom's makes... 


This is my mom trademark recipe she makes for idlies or pongal or other tiffin items when guest come.. Taste is yummy with pongal... So I hope you all prepare this recipe at your home and enjoyed this with your family. And you should send me the reply for this recipe....

INGREDIENTS :

Toor dal - 1 cup
Onion - 1(chopped)
Small onion - 5(chopped)
Tomatoto - 3(chopped)
Green chilli - 5(sliced)
Raw mango - as required
Potato - 1
Asafoetida - 1/2 tspn
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tspn
Coriander leaves - as required
Salt - as required

FOR FRYING:

Coconut oil - 3 spn
Mustard seeds - 1/2 spn
Urad dal - 1/2 spn
Red Chilli - 3 broken
Curry leaves - as required

FOR MASALA

Red chilli - 6
Coriander seed - 1spn
Fenugreek seed - 1/2 spn
Coconut - 1/2 cup
Gram flour - 1spn

METHOD :

  • In a pressure cooker first boil toor dal, potato, Asafoetida powder and  whistle it for 2
  • In a kadai add small onion, onion, tomato, green chilli fry it with one  tspn oil
  • In pressure cooker add the fried veggies with boiled toor dal
  • Cover it and again whistle it for 3
  • In a kadai add red chilli, coriander seed, fenugreek seed rost it for a minute now add to the blender and grind it into a powder
  • In that add gram flour and coconut again blend it
  • Now the masala is ready
  • Open the pressure cooker and add the masala , with some water
    salt atlast add coriander leaves and the sambar is ready
  • In another kadai put some oil then add mustard seed, urad dal, red chilli and curry leaves then mix it with that Sambar which we have prepared already.
  • Now the sambar is ready an serve it
  • Click ven pongal to view


PICTORIAL:

Take the toor with potato in a pressure cooker
Add some water and Asafoetida 
Cover and whistle it for 3
Cut all the veggies
In a kadai add oil
Add all the cutter veggies
Now open the cooker add turmeric powder
Add fried veggies and mix it well
Cover and whistle it for 3
Take masala ingrediants for frying
Roast it without oil
And add it into the blender
Blend it into a powder
Add gram flour
Add coconut
Again blend it
Now add it to the cooker
Add some water
Add salt and corainder leaves
In another kadai put oil, mustard seed, urad dal
Add some chilli in that
Add some curry leaves
 Done
