Appam batter


Today we see about how to make appam batter, in simple ways, it useful to the beginners... In this batter grinding large amount of coconut, which gives sweetness to the appam.... It is best match with Eddi sambar with coconut chutney, and also with coconut milk....


Now the yummy, soft, fluffy appam is ready to serve. It best match with sambar and the good breakfast recipe, kids liked it very much. The fenugreek seeds makes good smell to the dish. So I hope that you that you must try this recipe and let me know how it's turns out from you......

Item : How to make batter
Makes : 25 nos
Recipe Cuisine - Indian

INGREDIENTS :
  
Idly rice - 1 cup
Raw rice - 1/2 cup
Urad dal - 3/4 cup
Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tbsp
Coconut - 1 cup
Salt - as required
Baking soda - 1/2 tspn
Water - as required

METHOD :

  • In a bowl add rice, raw rice, fenugreek seeds and pour some water on it, in another bowl add urad dal and pour some water on it. And maginate it both for 2 hours.
  • After 2 hours wash both rice and dal.
  • In grinder add coconut, urad dal and grind into paste
  • Now add rice to that and make a fine paste
  • And store it a container for 5 hours so that the batter became puff and keep it in a fridge.
  • When you make appam add salt, baking soda, water as your wish.
  • Now the appam batter is ready. In a appam kadai add a ladle of batter to it and roll it to a appam
  • The tasty appam is ready and the appam has wonderful pour on it.
  • Now serve it with appam sambar.

PICTORIAL :

Take a cup of rice in a bowl
Then add 1/2 cup raw rice to that
And also add fenugreek seeds 
Pour some water and maginate for 2 hours
In a another bowl 
Add 3/4 cup of dal 
Pour some water and maginate for 2 hours
Now drained it
Add to the grinder
And some coconut to that
Like that
Grind it into a paste
drained the rice also
Pour it into a grinder 

Grind it into paste
Store it in a container
Keep it for 5 hours
Keep it in fridge
Now the appam batter is ready
Take a batter 
Add salt to that
Baking soda
Add some water to that
In this consistance
Heat a appam kadai
Pour a ladle of batter on it
Roll it of
See how the pours are in
Cover it with lid
After 2 mins 
Ttansfer it to a plate
 See how it's looks (so many holes)
Serve with sambar
